Foo - Management books?

Anyone know of some really good management books or leadership books I can pick up? I think I'm either gonna get promoted or just a bonus, but I have to show that I'm working on self progress and all that crap. I figured I might as well put my heart into it and really read something that is good an effective.

I'm short tempered and a bit of a perfectionist. Keep that in mind when recommending a book. ;)

I am not sure what type of mangement book or level you are looking for. Most of the management books I have read deal with Information Management, but the theories are the same.

Are you familiar with x and y theory, micro-managing, empowering, and motivating employees?

Try viewing some of these power point slides and maybe they will help give you a direction.

Actually, Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People is timeless. Most days we ALL need those lessons.

+1 This is a great book. No buzzwords, no nonsense, really good stuff.
Oh, and congrats on work going well!

It's not a book, but have you thought of taking a class at a community college. A lot of them offer their courses online, too. Just another source for information.

The Carnegie book is good, I alway liked Tom Peters, a little more off-beat but right on track for motivating people. Brand you 50 and Pursuit of Wow are some of the better books..

All of them, yes, except the x and y theory. What the heck is the x and y theory?
