If anyone is interested Bike Nashbar has touring frames on sale for $149.95. Very good price but the aluminum frame and threadless fork kills my interest in it.

I saw that one but I dont want to go down the road of an aluminum frame. I am sure someone could turn it into a pretty cool commuter though.

Exactly my thought when I saw the heading.

Just noticed it's back to $179.95. I might get interested if it ever drops below $100. Call me old school but I like all steel frame bikes, especially for long rides.

I considered buying one but man those welds look like cottage cheese

I thought hard about getting one of these to build up a town bike/commuter/grocery getter, for which aluminum would actually be OK b/c of the potential for exposure to rain, but I ended up going with a used Surly Long Haul Trucker instead.

Everything I read about the Nashbar frame was positive, though. FWIW.
