Foo - Cycling forums...anyone remember this one?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey everyone. I've been out of the game for a while now, but back when I was riding a lot (about 4 years ago) there was a cycling forum that I frequented. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it though.

So far I've found:
-cyclingforums.com
-bikeforums.net
-cyclingforum.org
-cyclingforum.com
-roadbikereview.com

None of these seem like the one that I have in mind though. I realize that online forums change their user interface so it might look different, but at the time this forum I remember had red/maroon accents and I think used some grey in the threads. Around the time I quit reading it, there was a lot of support for Anvil custom bikes as well.

If anyone recognizes this forum, or has any others that are worth taking a look at, I'd really appreciate some help. If for no other reason, just so I can quit wracking my brain over what this forum was called.

Thanks!

I think I know which ones you mean. They were the first forum I found 2 years ago too. They were linked from a bike shop website, and for a while I thought they were forums of that bike shop (e.g. local). Later I found that many, many bike shops had the same web page template and it linked to that same forum which was no affiliiated with the shop.

Anyway...just tried searching and I can't find it anymore either, though I do remember coming across it again just a few months ago.

I can't help you find that forum, but I will tell you that this forum is the largest bike forum on the internet. So if you need answers, this is your best source.

Stick and around and enjoy. :)

Nope, that's definitely not the one I'm thinking of. At the time, it was a pretty up-to-date forum software, much like this one. Didn't have that "early '90's" website look to it.

Oh, I intend to :D

Just trying to remember where my old stomping grounds were. Got to thinking about it and now its just driving me nuts that I can't remember the name of it.

You mean there's other cycling forums? That's like finding out there's parallel universes. Bizarro Bike Forums! I wonder if in Bizarro BF, Stacey's a post-op transgender female to male and King Termite is King Millipede?

Cycling forums or whateverf used to be big but suffered a big outage some time ago. A lot of regulars migrated over to the land of bikeforums and stayed bringing with them their erudite mixture of wit and wisdom and wentertainment..

Yeah, I realize 4 years is a long time in web world. Even if it isn't around anymore though, I'd still like to try to figure out what the name was. It's driving me nuts!

BikeSpeak? They're linked to a lot of different bike store, but the same content.

That's it!! At least that's the one that *I* was talking about that I found originally. They were linked from every other bike shop website I found it seemed.

http://www.bicycling.com, their forums more than likely

they changed formats recently, but theyve always had a serious troll and puppet infestation problem

Thanks guys. Still haven't seen anything that looks right. I know it wasn't the Bicycling magazine forum, and I know it wasn't directly associated with a store. It may have been road bike specific.

Was it gearhead.com or ridemonkey.com? Gearhead has the grey/maroon thing going....

Nope, and nope. :o

Sorry guys (and gals), I'm sure at this point some of you think I'm nuts. I just can't remember the web address for this forum.

It was a pretty sophisticated forum at the time. Had various rooms for different topics (like most forums now do) and a very active buy and sell forum. I think I have it written down in storage somewhere, but I won't be able to check until mid-august.

sometimes old content is archived on someone's website. Can you google your old forum name and see if it turns up anywhere?

Tried that last night with a couple different names, but honestly I don't remember what my forum name was for certain. It may just be easier for me to check my files in august. I'm afraid I just can't give enough information for someone to really help out on this one. My fault.

Thanks for the help though!
