Classic, metal, punk, new wave, you get the idea. Name and define your most and least favorite.

My favs are Screamo,Post-hardcore,emo,pop punk.

Least favs:metal, especially death metal!!1

I know there are others like experimental, folk-rock, power-pop,hordcore, metalcore, surf rock, southern rock, (some jamaican ska or something), progressive, psychedelic (not sure what that's like), plain alternative, emocore, i guess country too.

"Hope I die, before I get old" but I didn’t, so I'm going to say....Mods and Rockers, pick one.

But I'm not so old that I don’t like the Mod Ska Rockers.

Really...."It's all Rock and roll to me!"

There's only two types of music. Good music and bad music.:D

The rock press (earnest 22 year olds just out of college) and music industry aren't happy unless they can put a label on something.

I thought the saying went "There is only two types of music...Country and Western"

(yes, the is is intentional)

Don’t get me wrong I don't advocate that, I just pass it on.

Really for me Jazz is where it's at.

Sub-genres are basically limitless, given that the music industry itself can't agree on some identifiers. Too subjective, anyway. I recognize 3: "rock," "metal," and "pop"-ugh! within rock & roll. Sometimes they're interchangable.... Like I said, too subjective. Call it what you want, as long as the person you're talking to understands you.
