Hi Everyone,

I'm temporarily living and working in the Reston, VA area, and have just recently started road biking. I'm currently a grad student doing a summer internship, and will be returning to Williamsburg, VA at the end of August.

I got interested in road cycling after watching cyclists on the W&OD trail from my office window. I started by running on the trail, and slowly becoming envious of the roadies speeding by me.

I decided to take the plunge for a road bike (Giant OCR3), and intend to use it for recreational road biking and hopefully some light commuting in the future.

I'd love to meet other cyclists in the area who might be able to get me started on riding. I've been on the W&OD trail, but I'd like to eventually explore more areas around town.

Hey
For club rides try these.

and if you're still in town end of August http://www.restonbikeclub.org/restoncentury/

At the Leesburg / Purcellville end of the W&OD, or out by Marshal and Middleburg there are some good, hilly road rides.
For something gentler, the Mount Vernon Trail, C&O and Capital Crescent / Rock Creek are good. All very scenic.
And there's the local cyclists' favorite, Haines Point.
