General Cycling Discussion - Performance Bike censors poor reviews?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

About a week and a half ago, I submitted a review of Performance bike's Lazer LED headlamp.

http://www.performancebike.com/shop/Profile.cfm?SKU=21315&item=40-2425&slitrk=search&slisearch=true

I used proper English, and outlined the negative and positive aspects of the product. I had more negatives, but I still gave it 3/5 because despite being a poor design, the light was a decent value in its price range. My review never got posted, and I can only assume they censored my review to protect their sales (misleading, but they do have the right to do this). After looking around their site, I could not find a single bad review of any products they sold. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep - I gave a negative to a product and it never showed up. I thought it was a system glitch because I followed all of the steps, even confirmed my review through my email address. I said that competing products (which they do not carry) performed better.

You may be on to something...

I tried to submit another negative review of the same product and it sent me a hyperlink that contained all of the reviews I have submitted in the past. The previous poor review of this particular product (which I submitted a few weeks ago) does show up as being successfully submitted but it does not appear on the performancebike.com web site when you look at the product.

Maybe they could changing the wording to say something about only accepting positive reviews. I'm sure they don't want the negtive reviews to hurt sales.

I submitted a negative review on Kenda Koncept tires two days ago. Still not there.

I submitted 7 different reviews. 6 were posted, although some had negative points including one that Performance posted a rebuttal (speedplay stainless). The one that wasn't posted flat out slammed the Polar CS200 bike computer.

Hmmm. At least the Amazon reviews look reliable, if not always well informed. I would never buy a power tool or appliance without checking Amazon for user reviews.
