Commuting - My first full commute

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi guys,
Yesterday was the day! I rode to work and back, the whole way,and it was great!I started out last week by driving the car part of the way and i felt this week that i would be able to go the distance.
I am going to ride to work three days this week so today is an off day and tomorrow will be bike day.Next week i will see how i feel and go for five days!
Andre
PS- It is 56 km roundtrip or just under 35 miles for those south of the border.

Andre,
I am definitely "south of the border." My Atlanta, Gawgia commute is about 30 miles round trip. I don't attempt five-day weeks, though.
(I'll be rooting for you--and watching, too, for encouragement.)

Boy am I a weenie. My round trip commute can be as low as 3 miles, and I can make it the entire trip with seeing only a few cars. Er, maybe this makes me lucky.
Awesome Andre! That is great! I started commuting not long ago myself, and I know you will grow to love doing it! Like Pete, I don't bike every day...Thursday is golf league, and there is no way to haul my golf clubs on my road bike!
Keep having fun with it, and checking in here on the forums!

Three cheers for Andre!
Wow, a 35 mile commute. I wonder if the word "Commute" is even appropriate in this case. Maybe it should be called "Tour de Workplace".
That is really respectable. The bicycling community and the environment thanks you for your effort.
It's a wonderful achievement not just for you but also for the environment and for cycling. Congratulations.
It's also a big distance, so please listen to your body and don't force yourself if you get signs of resistance. Sometimes it's almost as easy to overdo it, as to underdo it! ;)
I hope you'll keep us abreast of how your commutes go!
