Fifty Plus (50+) - On your best behavior?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm not much for fifty cent words, but Buddy Boy, you're asking for a slew of them right here and now. How about narssicist, just for a start? There are over 3 million regular readers of the 50+ Bike Forum, and you seem to think that you and you alone can hold the line between civilization and complete chaos with a simple, lady-like, "be nice now." Let me tell you what it's really like to draw a line in the sand and defend it, Pally. Every day, thousands of cops hit the streets of Los Angeles, and along with their Bibles and their copy of the State of California Penal Code and their badge, they carry a firearm. It's locked, and it's loaded for bear. Because the one thing a criminal mind fears most is the taste of hot lead. And hot air won't cut it, Sir. The Macy's parade could use a few lungfuls of your nonsense to float it's balloons on Thanksgiving. But you don't have to give thanks for anything, do you Mr. I-Can-Do-Everything-From-My-Desktop? No, it's all about you and your magic beanstalk, the one that lets you climb away from trouble every time it rears it's ugly head. But maybe this is the time you skee-daddle out of town, and when you come back, there's nothing left but a burning pile of rubble. Rubble with your name all over it.

Not the "Bear," Officer! Is the bear the California state Animal? At least it adorns your flag.
You can certainly be testy! Why in the world that Padre Diego would want you to speak one Sunday morning is beyond me? Open your mouth, and in 20 seconds or less my whole congregation would be cowering under the pews--- or walking out on you. After spewing your nasty threats and insults, let me remind you that you are a Public Servant. Paid a salary by the good people who pay their taxes and understand their obligation to the rest of civilization. Certainly we need tough guys like you to keep the criminal element at bay, but never forget who "brought you to the dance."
Gary, have a nice time. Enjoy your new locale. Rent a bike and see new sights.

Speaking of getting out of town, where are you gonna be over the next few days copper? A lot of people are beginning to wonder why they never see you and Digital Gee in the same room at the ame time.

I rode right past a Baker's Square last night. Is that "best behavior"? Or a lapse from the True Faith?

Do you have a signed permission slip from your Mother?
If 50+ers are allowed to go traipsing all over, unsupervised, soon teenagers will demand to be out on their own recognizance. And then 5 year olds, toddlers, and newborns. Where will it end? This is a mighty slippery slope you are treading on bucko.

Why do you expect us to behave when you are gone when we don't behave when you are here?
There's needs to be a certain level of trust here. Have fun!

After my intiviation to George W. Diego's inner circle of extremist nut jobs, I think I've earned the right to speak to any group, as long as they are being held captive at gunpoint...a technique you should consider, Pastor Bob, when your flock gets a little impatient.

My cop's salary wouldn't buy me enough gas to drive to the dance, so it's a damn good thing there are law abiding citizens who choose to escort me to dances all over the great state of California. Occasionally there are significantly more men than women at these dances, which I've never understood, but everyone seems to have a gay old time anyway.

When I was leaving the house, my mom would always brace my shoulders and say a variant on, "Stay Safe". When my kids (still) leave I always give them a "Hey, I love you"....as if there is some potent, magic charm in those parental words to ward of bad stuff.
DG, I will resist saying "Love you".........but a manly "Have a good trip" seems appropriate!

Don't underestimate the power of believing someone loves you! :)
It keeps disease, pestulance, temptation and evil at bay every time!!! ;)

This is an acceptable exception!

Don't mention cafes- with Gary trying to lose weight. I wouldn't mind betting that he has booked into a Health club to try and lose a few lbs so he can get the new Litespeed he promised himself when he gets down to fighting weight.

I guess since FTH has just spilled the beans, I can reveal the true nature of Digital Gee's work...he is a world renowned doping doctor, along the line of Dr. Ferrari and Dr. Fuentes. Have a courier drop a paper sack filled with hundred dollar bills on his doorstep, and a few days later you get all the pills, syringes and suppositories you need to be a great endurance athlete. Doctor....er....Digital Gee keeps himself in "less than ideal" shape to help mask his identity...plus he askes all kinds of dumb-assed questions in various Bike Forums to throw the WADA off his scent. The whole, "Floyd Landis needs a new hip" routine is a creation of Doctor, ah, Digital Gee to cloak his latest methodology of cheating...A permanent, EPO leaching plastic hip bone. That Gary! He's such a kidder!

Although DG did not note his destination, I'll bet he has taken off to go to Italy where he is purchasing a custom built and fitted Genuine Italian Racing Bike. Thus not more aingst about what bike to buy. Perhapes some of our wiser members can set somke odds on this one. Then again, perhaps not:-).
