Mountain Biking - Opinion wanted

Any opinions out there about Fuji bikes? Particularly the Nevada? I know it's more of an entry level bike and all that. I'll be using to commute to work about 5 miles one way and the weekend trails from time to time. I liked weight of it when I test rode it. Just looking for input before I waste money if that would be the case.

can you post a pic or link or list of the specs/ componentry or specific model and price so we can see it? i suspect it will be fine.

Here is a link to some specs. Hopefully this will help out some. The MSRP is higher than I'm paying (or will be paying) My LBS is selling for $330.

Thanks for you 2c. Do you have any sugestions? The LBS I'm going with also sells Jamis Raleigh and Diamond Back. There is a couple other shops in the area, but they weren't as personable with me. I want to do business with someone that isn't or at least doesn't act like "buy a bike then leave me alone" or won't take the time to listen and answer questions either. Guess It's just me, small guy business is hard to find anymore.

The Jamis cross country looks nice, Its the only other name I would really trust that you mentioned. I dont think that Diamond back is really of the same caliber even though they have been around awhile. Specialized hardrock is also in that price range as well as entry level marins. there are also Trek's in your price range. I would look at one of these even if it was at a less friendly bike store only because its something you plan on riding alot so you want the best one for your money. You can always go back to the bike store you like for repairs ;) good luck

Looked at both the Jamis and Trek you mention. The Trek to me was just too heavy. Not that I don't have the power to roll it, just don't want to have to make more effort than needed. It has been a deffinate toss up between the Jamis and the Fuji, like them both. The Fuji really did feel better for my body. I guess at the entry level and the price range looking at they're all pretty close. I'm pretty much sold on the Fuji. I was looking to see if someone had some really bad horor stories about their quality that would change my mind. When I get ready to upgrade I'm sure I'll end up going with one of the other guys that have alarger selection. I know the light weight of the Fuji wouldn't be good for hitting the trails "Hardcore" with the 8' jumps and al that. But it will be good for the weekend rides and better for the commute to work.
