Classic & Vintage - can you recommend a BB for an '87 Bianchi Strada?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. It's an english thread. I dont' think I can use a modern cartridge style BB I tried to screw a Bontrager BB in there and it wouldn't go in because of a strange nub of metal the protrudes into the BB area.
the adjustable BB doesn't have the body the cartridge has and fits fine of course.
Ebay usually has used campagnolo bottom brackets listed.
also, it's possible that the little nubbin could be filed off without hurting the frame. gotta pic?

the nubbin is almost definately due to the cable guide. If it is plastic I file them or in some cases have removed it altogether and tapped the hole (M6) and replaced with a short allen bolt to hold the guide on.
that's exactly what it is thanks! I painted over the cable guide so I don't think I'll be removing anything...that probably wasn't a good idea. i'll stick with a BB that fits as it is. maybe...
