I blew up the stocker from my General last night so I bought some parts today and I'm getting it built on Saturday. The parts are:
Demolition Zero hoop.
DT swiss Ti spokes.
Odyssey HazardLite hub.
This will be my first rim with a Cassette hub, how are these to maintain? and how are they better? Tell me all you know about them.

Honestly, I don't like the hazardlite hub too much, but it's not bad. Everything is pretty light except for the hub.

Is it just for the weight, whats wrong with it?

That hub is fine, thats what I would get. I don't know if its bad or not, but I wouldnt get that rim, thats just what I wouldnt get though. If you like it then thats good.

Would the Anorexia rim be any better? What about a Bulimia?
I need a rim by saturday and they dont have a HazzardLite in stock.

I really like the Primo Mix Cassete wheel for $200. Anyone have anything against it? Any ideas on it? When I collect enough money, I think that's what I'm gonna get... unless I have to buy a new frame because the dropouts are so messed up.

The ribcage is $160 for the hoop.

Only like 100 cnd if you order off empire or albes. Haha, I know its expencive, but thats what I would get.

I would get an Odyssey wheel, they are real cheap, and very nice.
If not, then go ahead and dish out alot more and get a Profile. Those are the two best.
Cassettes are stronger, because unlike freewheels the driver is inside the hub making it harded to explode or blow out like freewheels can. Its hard to explain, but they are stronger.

I would never ever suggest buying a demolition product.

No demoltion is not the problem or crap here. Its the ti spokes that are.

Ti spokes are the same price as regular.

Ti spokes are the same price as regular.
Then where are you getting your wheels?
Ti is going up in price, and they are allready expensive before all this.
I highly doubt thats true.

The shop is cutting me a deal because of the times they've ****ed me over.

Ti spokes are the same price as regular.
And they snap more easily.

Ti spokes dont nessisarily snap more easily, but the threads on the spoke dont have nearly the holding power as a good steel spoke like dt swiss or marwai. So get it laced to either of those two. As far as a back rim goes, I'd go with an odyssey if you want cheap, hoffman's new rims I've heard good things about and their cheaper. if you want something stronger go for a sun big cityor something.

Oh, also, hazard hubs are kind of high maintanence. Ive found they tend to get wobble occasionally, which no matter what odyssey is nice enough to warrenty if you call up Nuno. If you want something a little different about the same price look at a shadow conspiracy hub. I don't know about warrenty, but they seem to hold up and are SUPER loud.

The Shadow Rant is definitely going to be my next hub unless I decide I want a freecoaster.

I was thinking about a freecoaster, but they are a bit heavy. The shadow hub is nice though.

Yes they do.

If you keep them tight, they dont snap as easily. If you keep them tight, the tension kills the threads. I'd worry about stripping them before I worried about snapping them. My 2 cents.

Ti Flexes and then go's back to its original shape when pressure is put on it aft doing this for a while it will eventually snap.

what is the loudest hub in people's opinion?
FitRider 921
07-26-06, 10:24 AM
The shadow is supposed to be pretty decently loud. The WTP Pi hub is kind of loud.

I've heard the shadow is the loudest, exept maybe a Chris King, and I'm not sure if they make BMX hubs.
The engagement is really strong on the shadow, you're supposed to be able to feel the clicks through the pedals. Someone said it also moves the cranks quite a bit when your feet aren't on them, but hopefully that goes away with time or was just one hub...
