Road Cycling - ATTN Atlanta/Stone mtn park riders...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am looking to begin afternoon rides at the park soon during the week beginning at around 3 pm. Pace will be about 17-18 min per lap for at least 4 laps. That is about a 17 mph ave speed.
Anyone interested???

Hi Sam,
If I'm unemployed (see this (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19475)) I'll be interested.
Pace will be about 17-18 min per lap for at least 4 laps.
I ride to the park from my house in Decatur (about 8-9 miles) and then ride around the mountain. I've never done more than 2 laps and my pace is usually 10-12 mph. The hills are killers - at least for my 58 year old body.
I'm way out of shape because of winter but hope I'll be in better shape (not great shape) by the end March when the ax falls. :o
The last time I was unemployed (2000-2001) I was out of work for 9 months. Seems that no one wants to hire "older" workers. You've heard of age discrimination. So unless I get lucky I'm expecting to be unemployed for a while. :(

I'd be happy to ride a couple of laps with ya Ron, I have been meaning to meet you some time anyway just to say hi.
What is your profession? Any possible job opportunities around the bend??
I need to just come out there one saturday and ride with you. I will have the baby and the trailer so it will be lots of work on the hills. But I like it that way.
