Agreed 1000% The last two days were absolutley a-freakin'-mazing!
True Champion right there!
"He reacted like a great champion," said France's Cyril Dessel.
"He is just showing that he's a real soldier," said Bernard Hinault. "I'm a big fan of Floyd today ..."
L'Equipe.fr Headline: Sacre Landis!
Reuters: Superbe revanche de Floyd Landis!
La Gazzetta Dello Sport: Landis dall'inferno al paradiso!
The Klingon Tribune: Heghlu'meH Landis QaQ jajvam!!
Kent Brockman, Springfield Action News: "The Greatest Comeback Since Lazarus!"
(All quotes except the last two are real... :D )

Bigger compliments could not be spoken, only echoed by us all. Win or lose - Floyd is a Champion.

^^ Bah, they're just reserving comment. It ain't over yet boys. If Floyd does not win it we will never hear the end of it. Though I suppose if he does win it we'll never hear the end of it either.
At any rate, I don't think there's any more room for calling this a boring Tour.

Yesterday, my wife and I watched Floyd bonk on OLN. It was sad, that he had lost the Tour. I was explaining to my wife that it would be impossible to make up that much time... I just witnessed the impossible. I called my wife at work to tell her what Floyd had done. I could barely talk. I was literally fighting back tears trying to explain what had happened today. I haven't been this excited since Kurt Gibson hit a pinch home run to propel the Los Angeles Dodgers over the mighty Oakland A's in the 1988 World Series. Wow! What an amazing Tour this has been. And Floyd is the real deal.
On a side note, what's up with his bikes? He missed winning the prolog due to a flat tire right before the start, he had a mechanical in the TT, and today he changed bikes due to a broken spoke. You add up all the time he's lost due to mechanicals and he would be wearing yellow today. Crazy!
Note to Phonak mechanic: SLEEP WITH FLOYD'S TT BIKE UNDER YOUR PILLOW TOMORROW NIGHT. It's all about the race of truth on Saturday. GO FLOYD!
Can anyone give a rough translation of "Sacre' Landis?"

[edit] sacrebleu - light French curse word for astonishment
L'Equipe.fr Headline: Sacre Landis!
But if he wins they will accuse him of using performance enhancing drugs to have such a superhuman performance after having a mere mortal day yesterday!
They surely do not want to see another American win their race.

I'm just thinking about the French newspaper Trautwig showed the other day with headlines saying something about Floyd lacking panache.
Well Le Monde or L'Equipe, how's that for panache?

I have been driving the wife to work since before the tour started as her commute stresses her. When she heard the excitement in my voice when I told her at 5:50 AM (CA time) what Landis was doing she told me to stay home and watch the race. No, I will not share her.

I was shocked to get an e-mail from my wife today...
"Tell me what happened to Floyd this morning."
She used to watch SOME of it with me for the scenery. Now this has her hooked on the riding too.

After years of calling it 'The Tour de Farce', my wife has at last given in and let the rest of the family know that I'm simply not around during July.
At first I was disappointed that Floyd didn't get the MJ back today, but on second thought, we now get to watch Periero disintegrate during the TT...I mean the flat one in a couple of days, not the 152km TT Floyd did today.....:D

I informed my work that since there are televisions and I have a great cable internet connection, July would be my lowest month for productivity. They took it all in stride. ;) :D

Maybe the greatest single sports performance I have ever seen! I can not think of one better. 1980 Olympics, Secretariat, my money is on Landis. Sad thing is the American sports media and most Americans willnever realize what an amazing accomplishment this is. LANDIS RULES!!!! I knew I should have placed a bet on him:(

Me, too. I drew the short straw this morning and had to wait for the AC repairman to come and look at our unit that stopped working last night. I turned on OLN when it first came on and I was complaining to my wife that they were talking too much about Landis and not talking enough about the "real" contenders and all the intricate details of how this stage might play out. Before too long I saw the the crazy and daring move of Landis off the front of the peleton. I couldn't believe it when he went clear. Like Paul Sherwin I doubted if he could pull it off, but OMG I had to root for someone with the ba**s to try to do that! My wife had to leave for work, but I promised her that I would call her and give her a complete download when it was over. I am SO happy that I had to stay home and wait for the repairman today.
If I wasn't so old I'd like to have a third son and I would call him Floyd.

Yesterday, when I heard the announcers say Flandis was off the back, I dropped my coffee cup, ala Billy Bob Thornton in Armaggedon. Today, I stunned seeing what he did. If he wins the TdF this will go down as one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.

nice story and interview with floyd done soon after today's stage here. (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5571404)
funny note from the interview: his race radio was not working for much of the stage because he was pouring so much water over his head...

I prefer the big grin he had during the OLN interview. Nearly split his head in two. My wife most admired that he did not waffle around. "I want to win the Tour" period.

I was in the car to hear Melissa Block (sp?) interview Floyd on NPR's ATC. It's always a hoot to hear them do sports interviews, but she did a decent job.
BTW, this was right after I heard Hipcycler give his daily Tour update. Hip knows how to talk cycling! Buddy, you gotta get your anti-Frenchie radio mate to hush up from time to time so you can give the scoop! ;)

The store is run by Cafepress.com. You send them a pattern and they crank out the T-shirts as they're ordered. Very easy.

Well, can't really regret it (I'm guilty too) - we gotta celebrate somehow (and of course they've added new ones now that it looks like he is going to win 'Floyd's Tour ...Ride of a Liftetime' (http://www.cafepress.com/car_roof_racks.67116148))...
Tomorrow (Paris) is going to be SWEET!!
