Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Clydesdale Jersey Poll

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This poll is for guys who are really thinking about buying a jersey. The rest of you are more than welcome to cajole, tease, or offer suggestions but please do it in the reply section -- don't take the poll.
******************************************
It looks like we'll be able to get semi custom jerseys for around $60.
In deference to the "I'm a Clydesdale but I'm not fat/slow/etc." guys, I've limited most of the selections to non-fat/cute stuff. No "Fueled by Krispi Kreme."
Any thoughts you have please reply. Also, if you have any history of ordering jerseys, I'd love to hear from you.
And if anyone has any public Clydesdale images...

no poll, bro.
DanI'm from NY... I have a hard time describing anything in 100 characters or less. The only jersey description that didn't give me fits was "other"...

I'm in! I'm looking to buy my first jersey anyways.
Can you please make as not-ghey as possible, you know, no flashy colors.
I'm afraid I can't call myself a Clyde any more...190 and falling from 205.

One of the guys I work with is a graphic artist. I asked him to come up with a stylized version of the Clydesdales pulling some skinny cyclists (humor injected) I don't know what he'll come up with, but we shall see.

I checked "other". I wouldn't buy any of them...I'm not opposed to a Clyde jersey, I just don't like any of the ideas. Good luck.
I like pulling the beer wagon but I'm not so sure if it should be behind thoroughbred - almost the other way around would be even funnier.
Yeah...like a big guy on a bike pulling a beer wagon, and a group of skinny guys following along, drooling.

should be a semi convoy behind a cyclist......there all behind me for the draft....

It's "lose", not "loose".
How about a dark "metallic" grey plain jersey with
http://www.peterbilt.com/images/log_lpet.gif
on the front?
How about 'SIZE' on the front....
and... 'MATTERS' on the back.
or
Whales on Wheels
or
the front of an old fashioned locomotive; and the caboose on the back
or
Team Orca
we take a big bite out of life
(you could add a graphic that looks like Lenny in Shark Tales)
or
a humongus pile of chicken wings on the front and a smaller pile of bones on the back

Vote cast. I would not mind a powered by Krispy Kreme. I love those things.
Oooh Oooh
How about an image of Homer Simpson holding a glazed donut on the front
with the word 'DOH!'
and 'NUT' on the back.

I like this one...or a clydesdale outrunning a bunch of thoroughbreds

A clydesdale outrunning a bunch of greyhounds or, better yet, whippets.
Clydesdale horse on a bike with a harness coming towards you, pulling a beerwagon in the background. Big furry hooves on the pedals and drapped over the handlebars.
No skinny dogs or cyclists anywhere. It's not about them.

Even though I was one that suggested a school bus, I voted other because I like the idea of a train that someone suggested better... And I also like the Peterbilt idea...
How about the train idea, with a number on the front (like the old steam engines had) of 200+ And some appropriate wording on the caboose on the rear.
This would also work with an 18 wheeler theme... And on the back of the trailer some appropriate text... Maybe:
How is my riding?
Call 1-800-CLYDESDALE
I also think it would be nice to have Clydesdale in text on the sides. and some logo (perhaps Peterbilt or railroad oriented) on the sleeves as the "sponsor".
Just a few ideas:
"Quit drafting me stick boy"
"Lance was a 165 pound girlyman"
"Off to see the Wizard - Lollipop Guild in Tow"
"I'm melting"
"Caution: Fueled by Beer and Brats"
"Stop looking at my a.."
"Yes, I have your pot of gold, and no you can't have it back"
For we taller Clydes:
"My Johnson is longer than your seat tube"
Your Logo of choice on front
with
"I'd rather be eating"
on the back

When the first thread abotu this started, I suggested a jersey in the Arrogant bastard vein... a bunch of cool Clydesdale quotes- my signature, a line (like yours) about drafting was suggested, etc.
But it seemed like the majority of people wanted something subtle yet definitively Clydesdale. (My preference is a more loud jersey but the posts made me feel like I was in the minority and if this is going to have legs, I figured I needed mass appeal.)
Keep the comments coming.
I'm all for making a statement...kinda feel like I do already :D

I dig the simple, just horse front and back. Everything else is way too complicated for anyone to figure out while being passed or passing.

Picture of Clydesdale on bike coming at you on front. Back is clyde going away with a few thoroughbreds riding his wind with, "There is a reason they call us draft horses. -Team Clydesdale"
(In looking for clydesdale art I found a reference to "draft horses" and had one of those "Eureka!" moments.)

I like that!
I don't know if it could be made large enough to be readable on a jersey, but I do like it...

That pretty much gets the point across without being too complicated. I like it.
Maybe to break up the wording, you could put the "Team Clydesdale" across the front, with the rest smaller on the back. That way, the guy on your wheel could read it and you could drop him while he's laughing.

at 210 6'1" I am not considered a clydesdale in normal life but in cycling I might be..
But then this clydesdale pulled 3 thouroughbreds for 35 miles of our 45 mile ride yesterday and
at the end I sprinted ahead to finish a 1/4 mile up on them.. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
I vote for the thourougbred just finishing ahead of the clydsedale... :)

Poll response posted. Yeah, I'm in.
Now for a suggestion trying to bring n what sound to me like the best and most popular ideas - Picture of a clyde on the front (any of the ideas would work, whether it is the horse alone ar beating a thoroughbred, or pulling a beer wagon or whatever) with "Team Clydesdale" ("Team' above, "Clydesdale" below), and for the back, the fine suggestion of "Why do you think they're called 'draft horses'?"
Di wiht this suggeston what you will.
And thanks, Hambone, for taking the lead on this one. I'd be willing to pony up an extra $5 or $10 towards you getting one for free in thanks for your work ont his. Anyone else with me?

I'm in at 6'5" and about 215.
Is this an inquiry or is there a design underway? I can help manage the process if that would be useful. I'm good like that.

The other suggestion is generous and appreciated but not neccessary. My goal is to get as many of us riding these jerseys as possible.
(To be honest, it's been mostly my bosses time anyway.)
I'm relatively new to biking in an effort to lose much weight, down 35 lbs in 2 months. I have been looking for something that is not just a solid color and in my size, which I'm finding tough. Only found one location so far. Being in North Florida, humidity levels are exploding as we work into August and cotton T-Shirts are soaked by the time I'm done with my 1.5 hr rides. I cast my vote, but I have seen some other really good suggestions. Just don't forget the 4X and larger "Clydes".

Umm.. I don't mean to be pushy, but any chance this jersey be done anytime soon?
I'm on a tight budget here and I need a jersey. If I bought one now, I probably won't be buying one for a while.
