Smith making a great movie after "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" would be like flandis doing what flandis did the last two days.

Yeah, we all stood in line to see "Scarlett". (The sequel to GWTW.)

Yes, I assure, its a great movie.....

I saw it this morning. If you like Kevin Smith's humor, then prepare to laugh most of the way through the movie. I want to go again, just to hear what I missed due to laughter. There are some scenes I was amazed the censors let him keep in. If your easily offended just don't storm out of the movie Joel Siegel style. It is well worth the price not to wait for DVD!

Right before the movie started, my wife noticed that she was one of only a handful of girls in the theatre. She said "Oh this is going to be a guy movie" with her you owe me eyes. Then the movie started, and so did the laughter. After the movie she was a thinking differently. "I can't remember the last time a movie had the whole audience laughing like that"

I hope you're right, SpiderMike!

It's just tough when the original was so perfect in its ascendency to legendary/cult status. The grainy b/w picture, knowing everything was hocked on credit cards to complete it, how it got picked up by a single critic who got it a shot at Sundance so that it could get distributed....

It's virtually impossible to bottle up that magic a second time.

To me, O'Halloran (Dante) and Anderson (Randall) never lost their working chemistry together. I feel they all were able to bottle up the magic for a second time. If this is Smith's way to pull the curtain on these characters/story line, it was well done.

it was good. the audience last night was a lot younger than me; i think i was the only one who got a chuckle from the Spider-Man reference. (it was from Amazing Spider-Man #42, btw.)

What's wrong with Mallrats? So many people ragged on this film, and I don't quite get why. It's one of my favourite all time movies.

I guess it's like Guiness. Takes an acquired taste, you have to want to like it in order to like it - and then you love it.

Mallrats is a good flick. Chasing Amy is the one that sucks.

Just saw it.

Pretty good, IMO. It's definitely not the same movie as the 1st one. It's more "easy listening".

But I liked it. Especially the LoTR vs. Star Wars piece.

So the okay reviews above inspired me to check out the movie. I met up with an old buddy to see it last night. We decided that the wives did not need to see such filth-flarn-filth. As expected, the movie was so-so. Too many attempts at a sappy plot-line really slowed it down, but there was enough reference back to the original classic to make it worth the while.

The ending was perfect and brought it all full circle.

Oh yeah. If I ever get a couple of house cats their names will be Randal and Dante.

I thought it was great. It is only the second sequel (Terminator 2) that I thought didn't suck.
