I have a very good friend who had a stroke about four years ago. I met him 2 1/2 years ago and he was in a wheel chair. He is now walking with a cane and going to the gym daily and riding the recumbent bike with the help of someone putting his one foot into the strap on the pedal.

I asked him today if he would have a go at a three wheel recumbent bike that we could rig up either a strap (power strap) or ????? to get that leg connected to the pedal. He has pretty good control over that leg, but little use of the foot itself.

So, how about a suggestion on information for us and maybe a bike.

Well, a clipless pedal would probably attach his foot pretty securely.

Please.....Consider discussing Worksman trikes with your friend. I own a
PAV3 semi-recumbent trike that is more or less designed for folks with
mobilty issues but can walk. A PAV can be built to suit your friend's needs
at a price no other special needs trike can touch but still not be cheap junk.

The PAV can be built with pedals to retain the foot in ordinary shoes while
enabling the rider to ride in arm chair comfort.

Please.....give'm a call as they are first class folks helping the less abled.

This sounds like a situation where heel slings would work well. I'm not sure who sells them anymore though...

Thanks for your input. After a bit of research I found the following web site for Project Mobility:
