What Floyd did on stage 17 was amazing and I think it may be the best ever in some way, but I had a hard time coming up with just how. Far from the biggest comeback. Far from a comeback against the best competition. I have a feeling it isn't even the best bounce back after a bonk. But it has several elements.
A great stage after a horrid one.
It is at the very serious contender level.
He was out of time.
Then the title of the thread came to me.
Can anyone think of a comprable situation on ALL counts in the TDF?
Of course it is premature to put it in hte best category yet. If he fails on hte final TT or other disaster strikes it loses it 'victory at the death' aspect and falls to level with quite a few other comebacks/lead changes. But if he does follow through just how unique is this?
