Professional Cycling For the Fans - Plans for the next two mornings anyone?

Glued to TV cheering on Floyd live in the TT.

Sun.
Having just come back from a week in Paris where we stayed a block from the Champs, Mrs. Hip and I will be watching the ride into Paris together.

She plans on making crepes for breakfast.

After it's all over it's time to go hit the road for my annual 'End of Le Tour' dedication ride.

Me thinks the dedication this time around will be to my soon-to-be brother in fake hipness, Floyd.

I going racing. I've got my own battles to fight, wish Floyd luck with his.

Giro di Coppi road race Saturday and 39K rolling tt Sunday.

BTW I have seen that final stage in person. They cordon off the place and you have to walk all the way around the course to cross the street. Man I was tired after that day. Stood around in the hot sun for four hours waiting for Jaja and Lance etc. Some dog had his elbow in my ribs for like an hour and a half, jerk. Worth it though, even though I could barely see the field sprint cause they moved some giant crane in front of the place where I was standing to film the finish.

Saturday: mowing the lawn, easy ride, then watching yesterday, today and the TT

Sunday: Organized century, the Vail Velo Colorado+Eagle River Ride (http://vailvelo.com/riverride.cfm). May watch the parade when I get home

Man o Man in the morning I board a bus and ride to the start of the worlds largest Bicycle tour. Myself along with 15000 (10000 actual registered along with 5000 scabs) other cyclists will be spending our week on a 500 mile ride while drinking beer. None other that Lance Armstrong will be riding with us. The only state that has more taverns per capita than Iowa is Wisconsin. Every single little town has at least 2 taverns. All of which will have OLN. I will miss the ITT but I have TIVO so I will see it when I drag me and my liver home from a week of careless beer slides with 70-80 mile days mixed in. RAGBRAI ......when I was in 9th grade my brother took me on it and it was the first time I ever saw a naked women up close in real life.

Sat. I'm leading an Earthquake ride mentioned elsewhere in BF. Sunday the wife and I are taking a walk near the ocean to avoid the heat inland.

Still...cool to be there in person.

It is a guts course. Longest climb is only 2 minutes, and it has a long flat section beforehand. You just have to keep pushing yourself and making it over the hills. It is a difficult course to be sure, but very doable even for a sprinter like me. It is hard for me to say this, but I hope to win.
