Road Bike Racing - Sisquoc Road Race info

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I registered for the junior state road race championships which are held in "Sisquoc". Other than the information on the flyer, I could find nothing about this race. I am mostly intersted in the profile and what the climbing is like, although any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.
Hi,
I rode the Masters 45+ race at Sisquoc last year. Past the start/finish is fairly flat to slightly downhill for a couple of miles. You turn right and you go down a short, steep-ish hill followed by a short, steep-ish uphill. Then there is a longer, fast downhill with a right turn at the bottom. The road is relatively flat with a few rollers for a few miles. The next set of right turns leads you to the "big" hill. I believe that it is about 1-1/2 miles long and about 300 feet of elevation gain. (There is about a total of 600 feet of elevation gain per lap.) You then do some more rollers until you get back to start/finish.
Also, there is no shade and it is likely to be very hot.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch. Anything really helps considering the total lack of info anywhere about the race. What is the lead-up to the finish line like? Is it on an uphill or is it fairly flat? Do the races usually finish in a sprint or is it just a long string?
On a slightly seperate note, my training ride is an out and back route with a 10 mile flat road followed by a 7 mile 2,000 ft climb then back. Since the race doesn't have any really long climb, should i be concentrating more on shorter climbs or will my current training route help me to really kill on those shorter climbs?
Thanks again.
