Hey all. My current crochet back gloves are going on 10 years old. Is it time to replace them:eek:

I have cool gear crochet gloves from 1976 still, but don't wear them much. Only with one special bike. Otherwise, I change them when the leather gets smooth and mashed flat and distorted, or worn through or too worn out to be recognizable.
Maybe your spouse, SO, or self can give you a new pair each New Years Day? New pair each year! Woohoo!

Your grandpa was alive in 1802? Mine wasn't even BORN til 1889!

Dun'no, Gary. I had a great pair till I lost one glove a week ago. I don't see a whole lot of difference so I guess I'll go with the idea of replacing them when you wear hole in them, or the backs get so stretched out they get kind of floppy.

Replace them when they smell like barf and cleaning doesn't help any more.

Hummm, an idea for a business Shoe and Glove broker. After all, how many times have you seen one shoe on the side of the road? The owner probably still has the other. :)

My ex-wifes grandpa was driving the supply wagon for Custer at the Little Big Horn. Rains and mud delayed him a few hours. He was the first soldier to arrive there after the battle.
Weird how far back in history some of our relatives go. If he had gloves, I'm not sure what happened to them.

Mt granpa ran away from home when he was 13 to be a cowboy "out west". Being half Norwegian, he had gigantic hands so always had a hard time finding gloves that fit him, even as an old man.

Mine are srheded rags now. I think it's time to get new ones. :)
