I am thinking about going out for a night ride to shoot some video. I have done xc night rides but this time I want to do some dh with all the drops and jumps. Has any one here tried that?
Just curious as to what is felt like droping off a rock or ridge into compleat darkness.
Being as I know the trail and where I will be landing, is there any differance in the landing because of the fact you can not spot the landing? Did it seem as though you were in the air longer or shorter because of the darkness?

I did this one time by accident. I got stuck up a mountain and had to get home. Its interesting because the drops appear out of nowhere (I wasn't overly used to the trail but I knew). I actually flowed BETTER because I had to purely rely on reaction time instead of being able to think about stuff...

Oh and the drops feel bigger...definately. It added to the adreniline and was one of my favorite rides...I would even do it again by choice...definately an interesting way to train :D

Well, the trail we are going to use we could almost ride with our eyes closed. I have never hit a 6' plus drop in the dark but I shall in the next few weeks. I have a couple of friends that are interested also which will be cool because we will get footage from 3 differant angles at the same time.

Night footage would be cool with good lighting...you will definately have to post those pics up. That would be sweet to see.
