Foo - I get by with a little help from my friends.

So I go to the mall to pick up a little something for my boyfriend's birthday this afternoon. Lots of people there from all walks of life. A group of 5 big guys are going around saying things to people and bothering them. They don't exclude me.

I leave the mall and suddenly have a blackout.

I wake up to 12 police cars from 2 different agencies, a police helicopter hovering above, a couple of paramedics and the forensic team. Apparently my Seargent from the police department was the first to respond and found me on the ground with blood on my face from a broken nose. Just came home from seven hours in the hospital. I don't remember, but from what I understand it took two large men over 6ft tall to beat this girl down for her money. With the help of a couple of witnesses and from the quick reaction to help one of their own, they caught the guys. One fessed up, the other is still under the hot light as I type this.

Thanks Stacey. Just wanted to let people know how fortunate I am they caught the guys due to the quick reaction of the PD.

I got a phone call last nite from Sgt. Morrissey saying that one of them is being cooperative and that they are really close to getting the other three. It seems that I am the fifth victim in the past couple of weeks, and that all of us were attacked in the same way. A simple tap on the back and a full face contact punch. I made it out lucky, though. The doctors were concerned about the bones around the eyes, but they are fine. Teeth all in place. Had a concussion, due to the fact that my head hit the cement when I went down.

The fun part was when the guys were told that their last victim worked with the Police Dept.....:D

I hope you're recovering well. Broken noses, if not properly set, can heal crookedly and then you can have trouble breathing out of one side. My friend, a black-belt in karate, had to re-break his nose. I need to as well, but have held off since there's a month or so of downtime as you recover, plus you have to wear a facemask in public.

In my case, after a year of waiting, a trial and a lot of blaming the victim public scrutiny, the
creep ended up behind bars... He’s being release next month.

For their skulls I reccomend using a nice long mountain seatpost. My old ritchey comp has a nice bend in it where the clamp sits on top of...that would be a very nice head-wrecker.

Oh, and nothing says loving like taking a pair of cable housing cutters to someone's septum...

The point of this thread was to tell you about the crazy response that led to the capture of these guys. Oh yeah. As of early this afternoon, they caught all five of the guys in the group but let three go because they were not involved in the actual assault. I've even decided to go back to work since I have to watch over the remodel there.

And just a side note, I don't carry a gun when I go shopping at the mall...........:rolleyes:

I was one of those smartasses that liked annoying people who want to ban all weapons, by pointing out how anything can be used as a weapon. My best example is how to use a bifold wallet made out of stiff leather as a whip-like weapon without any modifications of it....kind of fun to just flick my wrist, and nail a dec vt-100 keyboard hard enough to blow half the keys off of it. The key was in how you moved your wrist right before contact...it literally made the wallet behave like a whip.

I just pounded the life out of my 100 lb. bag...I taped my hands up and still have cuts all over them. God, please help me if I am ever near a situation like that, especially with someone I care about (you may laugh, but I care about Siu a lot).

It's pretty amazing some of the cowards that are wandering around in the world. Imagine, the bunch of big guys preying on women smaller than they are for a few bucks. There are few types in this world lower than people like this yet, they'll probably get some smart lawyer who will convince a juror or two that it's Siu's fault for being such a tempting target (smaller, easier to hit, etc) and thus they should get off. Sheesh....

Dude, I literally can't even think about that without going crazy. I remember the very first time I ever heard about someone hurting a woman like that when I was a kid, and I remember every detail of the story...where it happened (in the neighborhood I grew up in), what happened...and how much I hated the stupid monkeys that did it. I never lost that feeling, like the whole world is upside down.

Thank God she is alive, safe, and feeling fairly well, and thank the police for looking out for their sister.

Just got home.... and decided to check up on Foo..... Holy Sh*t!!! :eek: I'm so pissed off right now.:mad: I'm glad that your gonna be O.K. aside for the nose and the concussion. Please be very careful with the nose and have it checked often, as I broke my nose and know how they can heal wrong. I'm just glad that you're O.K. I don't know about where you live, but in Ohio most Peace Officers carry a side arm regardless if they are on duty or off.
