1. is it worth taking a gyro off?
2. what are spacers?
3. do you need spacers?

1) If you need to ask this question, then yes.
2) little shims that go around the steertube to take up the space.
3) it depends.

You don't really need them, at least not to ride it for a few days before you cut the steer tube or get spacers, but it looks kind of tacky without them.

It looks tackier when you have like 5 of them.

It looks good when you have like 1 or noe.

And you dont need them.

Gryors are a waste unless you ride flat or can do double tailwhips, double barspins or do lots of barspins and lots of tailwhips.

Basically you dont need it.

Well, it looks bad when you don't have any spacers but there's still a big gap between the top of the headset and the stem. And, actually, I think it might let dust get into the headset bearings because the top part wouldn't be flush against the piece under it (such technical terms, I know).

You could always ride brakeless, which lets you do as many barspins and tailwhips as you want, as well as looking way better than either a gyro or a straight cable.

If you didnt have spacers and there was a gap between your headset and stem you wouldn't be able to tighten your headset.

i dont have any of these problems, my frame doesnt even have gyro tabs (good ol flow), i have no spacers because my stem (elementary) is pretty thick and i stick to just a straight cable

The fork would wobble like piss too.
