Ack! Which publication has the Race Guide for the TDF? I had one for the Giro, but I just threw it away since I figured I probably wouldn't have a chance to get Gilberto Simoni or Julio Perez to autograph it. :) I think it came with Velo News. Has anyone seen a TDF Race Guide yet? I didn't look at the Guide until after the Giro was over and then I was kicking myself because it would have been more fun if I had been more familiar with the stages, the racers, the teams, etc.

Rainbabe and I were having dinner with an old high school chum of hers who married un Francais after college and has lived in France ever since. They have been living in Chartres for quite a few years now. I asked if they ever see bicycle races. She said the TDF has passed through Chartres on a few occasions, and they go watch it. She said everyone lines up early, some for hours, the riders pass in a blur and in seconds, they are gone.

Raymond

Procycling has the TDF supplement. There is a number you can call to order it, which is 1-800-428-3003. I just tried it and they said they would have to call back and verify my information on Monday, so they don't seem to do anything on weekends.

Thanks, guys! I checked my news stand yesterday, and they did not yet have anything with a race guide. I will check back for the Pro Cycling, but I don't think they get there new stuff until Wednesday. If it's not there by Thursday, I will order one.

Xavier, unfortunately, my new stand does not carry Bicisport. I will see if they have a website.

Raymond

You will not see Bicicport on any newstand. It is all in Italian and no one may carry. I sell by special request.

Best guides are from French or Spanish press as I seen. Routes, maps, schedules and more. A lot more than what mags offer here with the same 10 rider profile and generic map and not to forget the opinions of non cyclist writers.
