I think that this TDF shows that you don't need Lance to have an exciting Tour. I really hope that this years tour will draw more fans to pro cycling.

OLN (Versus) announced today that they will carry the Tour of California live next year, so there is some hope that we will see more in the USA and more televised.

2003 was about the only exciting one. the rest were mechanical.

I'm happy to see ..... quite a few 'newbie' type questions about TDF on the forums. It means that more and more people are getting into the tour this year.

And I am equally dismayed to see the "you obviously haven't watched much pro cycling, have you?" replies too. But all in all, I do agree. More fans is definitely a good thing.
