Mountain Biking - arg - nagging injuries...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am getting roughed up this year, bruised ribs, deep shoulder bruise and a wrist thing that I don't wanna get x-rayed until fall. Problem is its taking me off my game. Mentally I am just not on like I should be. Its just been pissing me off, good year, good bike, (excluding the extreme heat) and I just can't get it to click.
Oh well, just felt like ranting, only 2 more months and I will have the fall to recover just in time for ski season...haha...not much to really complain about. BEsides those immediate injuries does anyone have those nagging ones that really affect riding. I almost wish I had just broken my wrist, it would have been easier than whatever it is bugging me right now.
On a side note I have some nice steaks marinating for a bbq tommorow. Beer, biking and bbq...and crankworx to top it off...

I broke my hip a year ago and it's still giving me hell.
Also, this has been an off season for me, sometimes getting on my mountian bikes is a chore, I would rather ride my BMX.

Dam you and your crank worx that I can't come to. But I am feeling the heat in BC, I am sweating right now infront of the computer, and almost died up in Vernon this weeked. Also hit up Armstrong becuase it was my moms 20th grad.

I've got a couple cuts on my finger (crankarm mechanics, hand slipped, greasy dirty chainring right to the finger :() but other then that.
I was up in Vancouver for this weekend, I didn't have the chance to hit up whistler otherwise I would have tracked you down.
I shattered my tailbone while dirtjumping years ago and if I hit it wrong on the saddle, it will send shockwaves of pain through me that are pretty much debilitating.
I also broke my leg severely and was in a cast for 11 months. Now I don't have an even pedal stroke because my ankle, knee, and hip were misaligned while sitting for so long. This mostly affects my road riding, but I still can't achieve a heel-down foot position.
And then there's the papercut I got a couple days ago that stings when I get sweat in it! :D

I had a wrist thing that took about 6mo. to heal. It was just a sprain but it bugged the crap outta me for a while. You guys have fun at crankworks.

I fractured a vertabre in my back about 5 years ago and if it gets hit hard the wrong way it can bring me to my knees in pain and I will have to rest it for about a week so I can twist my back around. Thankfully it doesn't get hit hard anymore now that I'm not playing hockey but it still flares up a little on my bike sometimes.

I plan to. I also want to get in some riding this week too but with all the people around the trails are busy. I know I was watching some of the fun in the boneyard yesterday, freaking UNREAL this year. I can't believe, still, what people can do on bikes haha
At my age, every injury seems to hang on and nag much longer than I have the patience for. My ribs are still sore from an XC race crash I had about a month ago. I didn't get 'em x-rayed because: 1) you can't really do anything with ribs anyway; and 2) I didn't really want to know if they were cracked (and I certainly didn't want my wife to know :D).
Got one ankle that still gives some and hyperextends my achilles on harsh (like 5-foot-to-flat) landings and such. I hate that . . . it's been around about four years.
Here's hoping you get 'whole' again soon, Mael, and that you get yer groove back.
