Hi,
I have come across the two models of Peugeot mentioned above, both look to be mid -80's and in good shape. They are both black w/orange/yellow decal scheme. Can anyone let me know the heirachy of Peugeot and where these models would stand? Any other opinions/info would be helpful. Also if they are from the mid 80's do they still have proprietary french threading etc. if I wanted to update componets?

Ventoux ?
I have one, I think 89-91.
Full 105 group.
I ride it it daily. Its a great bike and I have been very happy with it.
I do however think that this model might not have been avaliable in the States this late. So specs may be different for earlier models.

I dont have the specific cataloge with BLACK models but I do have a mid-eighties cataloge within a year or so.....
Ventoux: 22.8 lbs, Reynolds 501 mainframe, 501 fork, all French:eek: componentry
Tourmalet: 24.5lbs, Peugeot HLE tubing frame nad fork, combination French:eek: components with Shimano 6sp. indexed gearing.
Both bikes have identical geometry thats almost identical to the top of the line P(Z)(X)10. In the cataloge the Ventoux is listed under the 'racing' section while the Tourmalet is listed as a 'sport' model.
The mid eighties were a transitional period for Peugeot. They were getting away from the French:eek: components and phasing in the far superior Japanese stuff. A couple of years could make a big difference.
Buy the Ventoux...its a nice bike.
