Road Cycling - I searched and searched, how to convert tube sizes.

Im trying to buy tubes for my road bike from nashbar.

I have 700 x 18 x 25c however all the measurements @ nashbar are like 26 x 1.75-2.1

WTF? I searched google, and cant find a conversion chart. What gives? I know performance bike has tubes with the format that i understand but i cant get 20% of there ;)

The 26 x X.XX are mountain bike tires, the road bike tires e.g. 700 x XXc will probably be listed elsewhere.

Not gonna work. 26" tires are found on mountain bikes; 700c mostly on road bikes and hybrids. Can't convert back and forth - they're different sizes and basically incompatible.

26 x 1.75 tires are pretty fat, ya know. The kind you'd find on a Huffy men's bike at Kmart.

They have 700x19–26c / 27x 1in. as one user posted above. But that is still not my size.

You purchase inner tubes to fit your tire. Look at your tire - it will say 700 x "something". The "something" refers to the width - it will probably be 20, 21, 23 or 25. It may be more, may be less. 700 x 19-26c refers to a range - it will fit into tires that are between 19 to 26 wide. So determine your tire width and buy a tube within that range.

BTW, if Nashbar has tubes listed as 700 x 18 x 25c, they mean 700 x 18-25c.

The tubes shown will work. I'm assuming your tire is a 700x23 or 25, and the tube says 700x18-25? That's the range for the tires the tube will work with. But, the above tubes are perfect. A tube that size will generally fit a fatter tire as well, maybe just not hold up as long and be a tad bit more prone to punctures due to the rubber being stretched a bit more to take up the extra space in the tire.

In short, anything with a 700 will work for you.

Umm, I think that will fit your bike. 700c and fits tire widths from 19 to 26. Your's is 25. They also sell a long stem version if you have deeper rims. Really, though, just buy them at the shop.

Yes. It will fit. If you have really deep rims, get that size with the longest length valve stem. Otherwise get those with the normal length valve stem.

I double checked again and it says 700x 18/25c It was 18/25 not 18x25. Now i know why i was confused ;)
