Is it also realeased in the Sam's club? Then How much is it cost there?

wonder how much Montague is paying to General Motors to use the hummer name ....
on the other hand it might be worth it.... I guess especially in Europe
than again maybe not... in my case it would be a not ...lol
doesnt it seems funny that there are a lot of US folks calling the hummer a gas guzzler and at the same time folks in europe like them a lot ?????

I bought the Montague CX $450 and had to replace most of the parts (crankset, BB, wheels, seat post, pedals). Note I ride alot in all weather. I chain my bike outside. The frame is solid, although the lower part is steel not Al, and the paint chipped more than I thought it would. I personally do not think front shocks make sense for on road use, but that may be my personal preference. I think front disk brakes might get you into rather than out of trouble (no rear breakes as the lower frame probably does not support disk brakes). I would get a listing of each part and compare with your alternatives. In particular the Formula brand hubs were a disappointment. The assembly was also inexpert. The unique geometery makes buying fenders and paniers difficult.
On their site I do not see a complete parts listing, I would ask for it before buying. See if you can send it back if you do not like it.
If you weight 185lb or more the solid frame is a +, otherwise look at Dahon for an alternative.
As to the Hummer name, my guess is very little or they are being paid by GM.

Err, no. I think most europeans think American cars are ridiculously big, inefficient and use antiquated technology... Certainly in the two european countries I've lived in, the drivers of SUVs are not thought very highly of! Because SUVs are so bad for the environment, the Norwegian government taxes the hell out of them - would you pay $100,000 for a Chevy Tahoe? Amazingly, some idiots still do, I guess it's so expensive it becomes a status symbol. In France they are considering banning SUVs completely, again because they are so bad for the environment and dangerous to other road users.

Superstarz,
Today, with the internet and most stores having some form of online presence, chances are you are better off doing a little research than expecting a reply here. Specially because the 26" bikes like the Montague are not popular in the folding comunity. Good luck.

Check the montagueco.com froogle.com sites for prices. You get a + if you can get free shipping or upgrades. If you are looking for cheap, craigslist ebay might have used frames for sale.

I recently ordered and received the model the original poster is referring to.
The frame was surprisingly light-weight to me.
Rode it on my usual commute route tonight and it performed just a little better than my Trek 800.
Only thing I hate about it is the Gripshift system that came on mine.
But, I could easily change those out.
I'll worry about replacing everything else on it later, it's doing it's job for now.

I think the Hummer has Deore hubs, which should serve well. The CX has amazingly crummy parts.

I'd get the stickers off with a hairdryer so you don't get your tyres let down by passers by.
Oh the strange irony of a humvee bike. Kinda the same as a Burger King fruitbowl. A lame lame PR stunt to somehow balance the karma of the consuming west.
Love the Greenpeace clip.

I get what you're saying and totally agree.
But, I'll take BK over McDumpsters any day of the week.
At least BK food doesn't taste like candy.
beside the fact hummers guzzle gas, they are built like crap.
they are retooled, failed, gm products.
only the military hummer is actually built with tough parts.
so funny to see h2's and h3's broken down because someone wanted
to be tough with it and the steering knuckle snaps or it
gets hung up on something.

Yeah I saw a vid on YouTube to that effect with someone running an H2 up a riverbed where the whole steering snapped and the steering went all cross-eyed. You'd at least hope they'd be tough if nothing else. 'Cos if they aren't even tough they are nothing all but conspicuously awful. Shocking objects. Ugh.
H2 Dies on a riverbed heh. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M9SA7MiY8c)

The salesman tried to tell me the H2 wasn't a Tahoe underneath. What an idiot. And the only time I ever saw one get near the dirt, the guy wussed out because he was afraid of scratching it. Of course, he couldn't have known that the trail he was afraid of was a Jeep trail, too narrow for my Landcruiser (I found out the hard way).

I have a 99 4runner Limited, 'cuz I wanted the 4wd full time, part time, and electric locker. I use it all the time. The driveway to our mountain biking cabin is an 1820' Jeep trail. My 4runner barely squeezes thru what we call the 'Bozo filter' which is a set of gnarly rocks after a mudhole. the whole trail is very hard but the bozo filter turns most people back. yes you need a narrow vehicle to be considered a real 'offroader'. most vermont trails are overgrown.
I have rolled my 4runner over and it never came out of alignment. the steering and wheel attachment bits are pretty well designed. the hummers on the other hand, are feeble. again, a military hummer is a completely different animal. but still too wide, and it sucks in snow. (tire choice and chains prevent that). it is funny how the H2 wheels have the pattern that makes it look like the 'rim drive gear' exists when in fact it is all smoke and mirrors. what a laugh.
hell, to each his own. I regard any pre-2000 4runner, jeep, suburban, bronco, and a few pickups to be actually 'tough' and offroad vehicles. of course you can toughen up anything with aftermarket products and a welding outfit. my 4runner is stock and it rocks. my skid plates are quite scraped, bumper has hit many a tree (at slow speed) I rolled it...liftgate is dented from slipping backward into a tree. but hell I actually use the friggin thing offroad a lot. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't actually need the thing to do what? build mountain bike trails and time trial loops in the woods.
