The Flaming Bikes of Deth !!
I don't know how many other cyclists have the same affliction, but our little mob seems to "light up" with the slightest provocation every time we get on the road after dark.

If you're already into it, what's your technique for getting all fired up?

If you're not, what do you think?

Standard procedure for this little number is to remove the rubber tyre and tube, and wrap a thick old rope around the rim.

secure with wire, and give it a test run to make sure she's not going to whip off mid-flight, and become the flaming snake of dread.

soak thoroughly in kerosene, light up, and shake that tail feather!

here's a little vid to whet your appetite. love to see who else is out there and just what the flaming moses you think you're up to...

ha ha ha...

I just did the "soiled" news papers in the spokes when I tried, they dont last very long sadly, but fun.

Jesus H divine! It doesn't look like "fun"! you'd want to ride fast to keep those flames out the back where they belong!

We've wired old bits of cloth onto fire twirling chains and soaked them... they don't last so long, either. rope is great.

Wow! That looks great. You do that everytime you get on the road after dark? Thats great. Don't you get burnt? Do you take your rubber tire with you? By the way the video link doesn't seem to work.
