I bought a cannondale super v700sl from a friend of mine. The only mechanical issue I can find is that the "headshok" will not adjust with the turn of the knob. It will NOT lock out either . I can turn it from left to right , no change in suspension nor will it lock out.
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be before I might take it into the shop? Do I need a new ctg?

Thanks

Depending on the model you have, it may not be an issue. Does the knob on top have 5 positions? If so, that only adjusts the Dampening. The speed at which the fork goes back to fully extended position. There is a difference between full open and fully closed, but may be difficult to notice to a "newbie" (Forgive me if you're not a newbie!)

If the knob is more of a on/off, you've got the lockout model. If it doesn't lock out, then your catridge is shot.

FYI, the new directions from Cannondale to their dealers is to NOT repair the fork. Remove it, and send it back for In-house techs to deal with! Figure at least 2 weeks w/o your bike!
