Tamworth. You could go hunting for the famous pigs!
Of general interest, Tamworth was made famous a couple of years back, when two pigs escaped on their way to slaughter. They bolted off into a forest and the country was enthralled by the exploits of the Tamworth Two as they became known. It took something like 2 weeks to find them, and there were endless reports of them being sighted, but always the pursuers were left looking at nothing but footprints and chasing rumours and shadows. Eventually they were captured and I think they were donated to a children's farmyard or other animal welfare place. There were those who argued that the pigs would make excellent pets. I'm of the old school that says they'd also make excellent sandwhiches!:D

Can't say I heard of those, what was the outcome?
Another animal tale I like was about a hippo that went walkabout in South Africa decades ago in Kwazulu Natal I think. For some reason, it just left the safety of its watering hole and strolled around the country and when news spread about it, the towns she passed through actually feted her and they put up banting and printed flags with her picture on it and people followed her everywhere, giving her food and ensuring she had water to drink and washed and cooled her with buckets of water. I think she died naturally. Her name was Huberta! Nice story!

Just did a search and it seems she was shot and not died naturally as I thought she did. Link above explains her life! There are lots of other Huberta the Hippo web hits.
