Hit-and-run accident leaves bicyclist injured

P-I STAFF AND NEWS SERVICES

A 28-year-old bicyclist was badly injured Monday in a collision with a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of 20th Avenue and Union Street, Seattle police reported.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries to her face, body and arms, as well as possible internal injuries, Seattle police spokesman Rich Pruitt said.

Police still were looking for the driver, who drove away from the collision in a red Chevrolet Blazer type of vehicle with a white stripe, possibly a 1970s or 1980s model. The collision happened about 3:45 p.m., Pruitt said. The SUV likely had damage to its front grille, Pruitt said.
