I have two wool jerseys. They are fantastic. I can wear them in 85 degree heat and they wick away the sweat. They rock in the damp and drizzle. Extremely versatile and durable. Itchy stuff drives me craze, but no itching in a merino jersey....
Whatcha think?

I love my wool jersey! I just purchased a 2nd wool jersey a few days ago, should get it in the mail monday or tuesday, its soo oldschool, right out of the 60's style :)
I also have a pair of wool pants i picked up at a 2nd hand store, i wear these over my lycra tights when riding in the winter, they keep you warm, even when wet. I think i paid $7.50 for these pants, there awesome.
The only downside to wool, is it itches for the first few times, and its a pain to clean, have to do it by hand with woolite (sp?).

I'm considering getting a wool jersey. Sierratrading post has some of the last of the Swobo jerseys and it'd be cool to have one.
I used to have a light merino wool sweater and it worked good for riding on cool days. It ended up getting shrunk in the wash and I gave to the thrift shop. I guess Joe's right about washing wool by hand.

The second best thing about wool is that it doesn't pick up odors like the synthetics. My wool jersey has seen it's share of sweat, but it doesn't smell. My coolmax tees reek even straight out of the laundry.

I had no idea that such a thing existed for cycling. When I was in college I did a few Civil War Reenactments. In 90 degree heat I wore a wool jacket, wool pants, and even wool socks, and I was comfortable. Where can I find a wool jersey online to check it out?

I am a big fan of wool jerseys as well, and have four--two short sleeve and two long sleeve. I also appreciate the non-stinkiness of wool--even though I sweat a lot I can wear a wool jersey two or three times before washing it.
Another online source for wool gear is kucharik.com
I'm quite interested in Wool jerseys..
I thought they'd be quite uncomfortable, but judging by everyones comments, they sounds really cool, especially in the British climate.

OK somebody in the Hot Humid South check in on this one.
