I bought a 04 Cannondale Ironman 800 from Palm Beach FL on the 13th. Let me let you all in on my story pull up a seat and relax if you have the time...
Let me give you a little back ground on it. It was shipped last monday from Palm Beach FL. It was supposed to arrive on Thursday from FedEx. Well I was watching the tracking information online when last wendsday it was shipped all the way up to Hagerstown MD (which is about 2 hours north of me). So I called them and ask the WTF? They said they accidentally put it all the way up there they are redirecting it now and I should get it by thursday. Well Thursday come and goes I call them that night and they said they can't find it anymore. So I spend an hour on the phone with FedEx they finally track is down and they tore the barcode off and sent it back to FL. Obviously I am getting pretty pissed at this point. So I tell them just turn it around we both know it is supposed to come to me and overnight it back since it is well over the expected ship date. They blame the shipper and say it's his fault the label fell off (tell me how this makes any sense since it made it to three different stations and now it doesn't have one.) So I argue and argue and argue with no avail. So the shipper calls and gets no where as well. So Monday comes and goes it's now yesterday I tried to track it again and there is no info. I call them at noon and they say they completely lost the package. They have no idea where it is at all now and I have to file a claim. At this point I am just livid I was supposed to get it last tuesday. So I call the shipper and he says he will take care of it.
I went out for a bike ride yesterday and I blew a flat at 5 miles out. I stop change out the flat with my spare and some CO2 I keep going until 9 miles I turn around and head back. At this point I am about 3.5 miles from the house flying down this hill doing about 40-41mph when I feel something get mushy it's my tire AGAIN. I stop and inflate it one more time and keep pusing on I made it all of 100 yards when my rear tire blows. At this point I am out of air and spares so I hope off and start walking. It took me about 10 minutes to get ahold of anyone to pick me up. I finally do and my wife heads on her way. I have nothing to do so I call FedEx to harrass the people there and tell them how worthless I think they are. Then they suprise me with well you will never guess what happened we found your bike in Alexandria (8 miles from my house) we are delivering it tomorrow. So I tell them Hell No leave it there I will be there in a few minutes. So my wife and I head down there with me and we get the bike. BTW I am still wearing cycling shorts and my Team Snickers Jersey with cycling shoes on you know the ones with the metal cleates on them that make a nice sound every step I take. So I pick up and take my bike home and I am now officially happy. Here it is god I love this bike I didn't get a chance to ride yet but I will soon.
