Triathlon - Non-Padded shorts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I prefer to wear non-padded cycling shorts. I rarely ride more than 50 miles in one shot, and I dont need padding for that. I like to be able to wear bike shorts to race in, but dont want to have that stupid pad when I am running.
Problem is, non-padded shorts are hard to find. Does anyone have a favorite brand, and where do you get them.
Also, I prefer shorts with shorter legs. Dont like bike shorts all the way down to my knees!
Am I asking for too much??

I raced in a Speedo when I first started tri's in 1989. But now, as a Clydesdale, wearing a Speedo would just be WRONG, VERY WRONG!!!
As for the hindquarters....I get some saddle soars if I dont ride for a long period (month or two) but now that I am riding regularly, I dont really feel anything. But like I said, I rarely ride more than 50 at a time.
Just get a set of Jammers dude. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=1335142&cp=717754.712915.1335141 I have done about 3 races in just Jammers...
