Thought I'd post a few photos of the '86 Grand Prix with it's new skinwall Kenda 25Cs.

The vintage appearance of the skinwalls certainly make a difference over the Continental 1000s that had been on it since I bought the Campagnolo Triomphe component lot on an '85 Basso with a bent frame.

Yes, that's cotton bar tape all right. Campagnolo hoods too, but both have slight tears in them - doesn't look that bad though.

Enjoy the photos.

Take care,

Looks nice and stock! I would run cotton, but its too hard to clean! I settle for the plastic white stuff.

It does have a "stock" look to it, doesn't it though? Funny thing, only the headset is original to that '86 Grand Prix frameset; the wheelset, components and seatpost came from my '85 Basso, and the Belt saddle from a member on the Schwinn forums. I appreciate the compliment - I'm glad to know it doesn't come off as a big mishmash. :D

I have the white plastic Hunt Wilde tape on my Paramount. Looks good, but has the adhesion of grease (!)

Twenty-two, to be exact! I'm sure it would weigh 21 LBS if I simply ditched that terrible Belt for a Brooks.
