Mountain Biking - Oh great... Duct tape won't fix this.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm kind of broken right now. 2 cracked ribs and a strained rib cage for the same crash that did my Pike in. So to sum it up, I got in a hurry to get the Kona back on its wheels and I'm not allowed to use it for a few weeks. The good news is that one, yesterday was one of those rare occasions that I wear armor, it could have been worse. Still am allowed to use the fixed gear.

Did you go to the doc and get wrapped, or are you toughing it out?

They don't wrap anymore. Wrapping can cause Pneumonia.

I would try the ducktape, it seems to have magic wonders. Plus when you take it off, free waxing!
Sorry about the ribs though. Hope you heal up quick!

i second the duct tape suggestion. best stuff ever!
seriously though, hope you heal up quick. rib injuries suck and can take a long time to heal. i got a handlebar into one rib about a month ago now ... still hurts now and then. sucks.

Good luck Kona, I had that injury last year. I was able to ride fairly quickly but the fun stuff (mountain and steeps) I had a lot harder time jumping back into. The ribs took almost 9weeks before they felt fine. I was able to ride but it sure wasn't easy :) I am sure you will tough it out

I'm with you there, I just finished healing up from an accident on the way home from the trails. I was in a bit of a rush and was cruising through my little town of northport and someone opened a car door into me. I hit it full force with my chest and wiped out. The bike is fine it only bent the brake pad out of alignment but I couldnt ride...breathe...laugh..or anything for about a week lol....cough...lol.
Cracked ribs hurt.
Beer it up and cue the collective dvd.

Get better, Dude. I see you're still loving the Cowan, my Gimp should be built up this week (crosses fingers).
I threw the chain on the first incarnation and ate it real bad last Monday, if it makes you ffeel any better.
