After riding the same bike for 19 years, I bought a new Litespeed Arenburg. I never gave insurance a thought till I saw a mention of it in another post. Does homeowners cover the bike while out of town, etc. or do you have to get special coverage for it? I keep it secured but you never know. I can not not afford to replace this one.

Check with your insurance company, they're all a bit different.

My homeowners insurance covers my bike if it's stolen, but I do have $250 deductible. Be sure to take photos of your new bike. This will help if you have to make a claim.

I talked with my carrier (USAA) and was told my homeowners covers the bike anywhere in the US. Told to keep photos, serial numbers and reciept. If stolen I need to file a police report. And I have to pay that pesky deductable.

My homeowners insurance only covers bikes up to a certain figure, I think $350.00 or something like that, and for anything over that you have to get a separate rider for each bike, at additional cost.
