I increased my bid on the combination of Huffy and Campagnolo bikes, because I decided it was worth the risk... I do hope I didn't in effect outbid a BFN member after saying what I did in the eBay/CL thread... The Huffy will probably end up at the local thrift store, but the other...

Since I increased my bid, the seller has posted an update.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&item=200009848478&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&rd=1

Apparently the RD is Campagnolo, and the handlebars say Royce Union...

I believe I have the option to cancel my bid (max about $80 for now) because of the new information.

My bid was a gamble to begin with, but I am somewhat thinking that this is a gamble between a cheaper bike that someone put one or two Campagnolo parts on, and a nice bike that someone put some Royce Union bars on for some reason... From a quick search, it seems unlikely that a Royce Union would have Campagnolo, since they are not high end, or am I being paranoid?

I am tempted to leave my bid (under 4 hours left) but I am open to someone calling me crazy and helping me change my mind...

Oh well.... as they say in Atlantic Cty (I assume, never been there)...

Let it ride!

Might as welll say that if I have no options...

:D

I am not feeling terrible, but I am definitely less optimistic than before... and yet strangely more... At least it has a Campagnolo derailleur, and not just a sticker on the frame... ;)

EDIT: The strange thing is I will be disappointed if I lose the auction, just because I will never know if it was a good deal... Ahhh the joys of auctions!

looks like you won it...so tell us all what you got! I'm guessing that the pedals are TA and if so they might be worth what you spent on the whole auction. (like the U-Boat Captain sez in Das Boot: wishing you "good hunting"...)

You did good. From the seller's description, it sounds like that machine is outfitted with a TA crankset, a Campagnolo drivetrain and also a Campagnolo brakeset.

I'll put a guess and say those levers are NR.
