From Eurosport.com

Spain's Abraham Olano has called off his challenge to the world hour record, scheduled for Saturday. The ONCE rider, runner-up in the Giro d'Italia, was advised to postpone his attempt at breaking the record held by Britain's Chris Boardman after medical tests revealed a rise in his body's level of lactic acid. That was thought likely to be the result of his efforts in the Giro, which ended on Sunday, and Olano announced on Thursday that he would not go ahead with the record attempt.

I'm curious, but not sure where to look - what's the current record and how long has Boardman held it?

thanks

I think there are a couple of one hour records - depending upon what a "legal" UCI bike is. The SI article touches on that.

DS - Thanks for another good article link. It's nice to see the drug test results were all negative.
