Hi; I currently own a Burley Rumba. I am thinking of picking up a Santana Cabrio. Anyone out there who owns one of these and would like to share their thoughts? Does anyone other than Santana make a bike similar to the Cabrio?

Thanks.

I don't own one, but I do know some folks who do. You can either give me a list of your questions and an Email address where they can reply to that I'll forward to them OR you could subscribe to "Tandem@Hobbes" and ask your question there -- as that's where they "hang-out" on the Web.

You can find out how to subscribe to Tandem@Hobbes by going to the following URL:

As for others who build these types of "convertible" tandems, there are several builders, including but not limited to the following:

Bilenky, near Philadelphia, PA, created the original "Triplicator" http://www.bilenky.com/index.htm

Meridian Tandem of Eugene, OR, has built several.

Dennis Bushnell of Bushnell Cycles in Washington State has built several.

Rodriquez of Seattle, WA, created something called the "8 Ball" and may be building these types of tandems.

There may be others but these are the ones I know of off the top of my head.

I am just looking for how well these work out. I would normall use it as a 2-person bike, but would want to add a 3rd or 4th seat from time to time. My email is tc@hazzard.org

Thanks.

The word has been passed to the "other" forum. I was .cc'd on replies from Brian J (Santana Cabrio-3), Dr. Mark (Santana Cabrio-4) and Chuck O. (Meridian Quad) who are weekend readers. I suspect some of the others won't see the posting until sometime during the week depending on how often they check their Email.

Hope this helps.
