Road Cycling - SO what's your best 200m time?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So, what is it?
I do my sprints at sea level (so it's slower). So supply:
- the altitude of your track
- the type of track (eg wood/concrete). Wood is faster, yes?
- gears used
- physical specs if you like
- your bike (discs/frame)
my time is 12.4 on an 88.2 on a pretty trashy bike on a concrete track at sea level. I'm interested to see how much difference altitude, type of track and gearing makes on the flying 200m.
My average cadence on the 200 works out to 137 rev/min. Too high?

is it slower at low altitude b/c of wind resistance? i have never done track racing, let alone racing of any kind, so i have no idea what it's like

Dont race,just ride.

Sea level will have higher air pressure (more drag), but also an increase in oxygen- which can work to your benefit. A 200m sprint is going to be mostly anaerobic (no oxygen) anyway, so the drag might be more significant. I don't think that drag or oxygen would make more than a fraction of a second difference anyway, it's a short race and all up to the rider.

90 minutes flat. it took 90 minutes to figure out how far 200 M is in yards.

about 220 yards. take the number in the hundreds place, multiply by ten, and add it to the meter number, i.e. 800m=880 yards. Its not exact, but its pretty darn close (close enough for the running crowd)
Altitude does make a significant difference.
Have a friend at 1000m he does a 11.7 and at the coast he does 12.1. Imagine what he would do at 3400m where most track world records are made (especially the short sprint ones).
BTW got my time down to 12.09 yesterday! and that's with a very standard bike. Getting my new bike soon: Zip disc at the back, Mavic 3g front and a Fujitech frame! should shave another 0.3 off with that!

My 200m is 11.9x on a 48x15 (86.4) 32 spoke wheels on a fine bike. It's on the old atlanta 1996 games now located in Bromont, Canada. The tack is wood but the surface is a lot less nice than it was. I think my times are gonna go up now that the track is bumpy. the banks are 42 degrees.
Wood is faste IF the wood is hard, weel alligned and dry, like in Manchester. Otherwise it's not
and 137 rpm for a 200 is damn low! you should aim at 150-160. That's where the speed is. Leg speed, Leg speed, Leg speed, Leg speed, Leg speed, more leg speed....;)
Around this time it's slow. When the temp gets warmer, it's generally faster.
