Mountain Biking - another question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

how would the mavic x 223 rims with deore hubs black straight gauge spokes and brass nipples hold up to 10 foot drops?

I would be wary, the x 223 is a cross contry wheel.

Why do you ignore good advice and keep asking about XC type rims. If you are really going to be doing 10' drops, you NEED an indestructable rim. Even then, you'll taco it if you land wrong.
If 10' drops are in your immediate future, get either some ATOM LAB TRAILPIMPS, MAVIC D321's, SunRigle DoubleWide's, or Intense Mag30's,....etc.
If you're just going to be doing a lot of XC type riding, with an occasional 1' to 2' drops(not much bigger), then any XC rim should be able to hold up to "Occassional" drops if you're smooth.

C'mon, not to be harsh, but how many times do you need the same question answered?

Man, I'm starting to sound like KleinMpp, I guess I should go get some caffeine in me, so I'm not so irritable.
Sorry dude, really, just trying to help!

Don't think about ANYTHING but a downhill/freeride wheel if you're really gonna be doing big drops. Supposedly the Trail Pimps are some of the strongest wheels around, and the DeeMaxs are practically indestructable as well. But Deore hubs? Cmon dude! You can't build a tough wheel with cheap components!
