Professional Cycling For the Fans - What was with all the testosterone adds Friday at Bikeforums?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It sure seemed bizarre seeing all those adds for testosterone here Friday given the publicity over Floyd on testosterone. Did something think the publicity involving Floyd would help sell testosterone on the internet?

No. The google ads will reflect whatever the subject is being discussed. If you talked about ice cream throughout this thread, then you'd be getting google ads for Mr. Goodbar, Dove bars, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, etc.

It depends on the topic. Of course, you could stop these ads with a simple upgrade to your account... :D ;)

I think that the marketing company's computer picked up on the repeated use of testosterone, and decided to put in context appropriate adds.
It probably wasn't a human decision.

Block um? I thought it added a lot of ironic humor to the forum seeing attempts at marketting the very item that was a problem in the TDF and the center of conversations here. :D

I went to some websites that had articles on FIGHTING the use of testosterone in sports. And, one of those sites had lots of ads, with links, for where I could buy the stuff.

It was like going to the website for AA, and discovering the page being sponsored by Miller Beer.

Bingo. I'm surprised I've never noticed EPO adds.

While they have disappeared here today, I'm noticing today the testosterone adds are dominant over at Cyclingforms.
