Needed a decent bike so I would have wheels while I take my time and look for a good used bike. Asked a friend about his old bike that he had in his garage that he never uses anymore. Anyhow, bought it off of him Friday for $50, bit high, but I didnt want to offend him.
Was in pretty good condition. Only faults I found was slight wobble on the rear wheel, not enough to hit the brake pads though. Broken front derailleur cable, bad tube on rear, minor surface rust on frame, otherwise solid, and badging is perfect...Tires were brand new, but old. However, theres no cracking going on that I can see, so theyre ok.
I replaced the cable, put a new tube in, oiled the chain, and Ive ridden it about 25 miles so far and it rides good. I need to polish and clean the frame, then ill take a pic of it. I took a pic of the bike right after bringing it home, its at the bottom of this post. Shifters are toggle type thingies at the ends of the handlebars, they dont show up well in the pic.
