Road Cycling - A road bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

One of my buddies that I ride with had an extra road bike sitting in his shed, so he lent it to me. Dood, it is the coolest!!!! I love it. I haven't been able to get my butt off of it for the last 2 hrs.

The speed, handling and responsiveness of a road bike vs. a mountain bike is a nice experience.

Would he sell it to you? You could save money that way--but I guess you've got your heart set on a mountain bike....
Yeah I still want a mountain bike. I went riding with my buddy(boss) this evening(Sunday, June 17) and there is nothing like being on a trail. We even saw a deer cross the trail!!! It was great.

Interesting that when a deer crosses in front of your bicycle path it is a source of delight, but when you are in a car, it is panic time.

And spotting the deer, sure beats having a squirrel run in front of you! ;)

When I put 1.5" slicks on my MTB this spring, there was a world of difference. Since I mainly commute, it seemed like the logically choice. It handles road turns much better and the rolling resistance is greatly reduced.

I live in San Antonio TX and ride in the Hill Country and seeing deer scares the #$&^$*$ out of me. You can hit one with a car but on a bike will mess you UP. I saw about 8 of them today and one ran in from of me at about 50 meters. Hes not the problem, its the other three watching. I think they bet each other......

Next time, if you actually see money change hooves, call the cops!:D
I don't have to put up with deer where I ride, but one experience like that and I don't know when I'd get back on my bike.
