Foo - Am I the only one.....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Am I the only one that finds women who sleep on their stomachs sexy?
No, there's a lot of "back door" men out there. :D

If you haven't read it before, try "Anthem". It's much shorter and less complicated, but much more profound. It's the perfect book to read "back to back" with 1984. Both take on the same topic, but attack with exact opposite viewpoints.
oh, cool! thanks for the tip! wheee!!!! *runs off to barnes and noble*
+1 on picking up 'Anthem'. I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Fountainhead' and 'We The Living' too.

Haven't read "We the Living" yet.
Did read Anthem (forced to in high school, and how I discovered Ayn Rand), Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead though.

After reading just how obsessed you are about them, YES. You are the only one ;)
(am I the only one who wishes we all lived within 50mi of each other? Close enough to meet once a month and do this in person, but far enough that we're not right on top of each other. 'Sides, that's a good distance to have monthly rides to people's houses and stuff. Yes, I think about this stuff too much. I think I need to find a new career)
you're not the only one, I really wish we could all meet often and laugh :)

as the in-house pizza expert here at bikeforums, i'll tell you that you are dead f#$ing right!
Pizza should be pie cut! Even if its an 18" monster, PIE CUT!!
The only exception to the "Pi Cut Rule" is Sicilian Pizza, Pi only applies to circles! 3.1415297 doesn't find the circumfrence or the area of a square pizza!http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/dirtbox/pics/muttley.gif

Am I the only one who falls asleep with my air filter on. It was purchased when I was like 13 and had sinus problems. The thing is so old it doesn't work. But it sounds soothing to me. Without it, I can't sleep.

Am I the only one who always wears sunglasses during the daytime even if it isn't bright outside.
You should wear a tinted lense PAPR respirator 24/7. Plenty of noise, good sun protection for your eyes, absolutely no more sinus trouble, and as an added bonus, every time you go out in public people will run in fear wondering why in the hell you have a gas mask on.

Time for weird admission......ever do things that you wonder if you are the only one that does them, or if they are actually quite common? This could turn into a George Carlin skit. ;)
I'll put a few....then your turn.

Am I the only one.....that takes eggs symmetriclly from the egg carton?
Combat boots are not for me, and the eggs never bothered me since I usually make them all at once anyway. BUT, I may be the only one here who has to organize the food in the shopping cart so that all frozen stays together, box food is together and so on and that the bread is never smushed......can't stand smushed bread....

Nope, a stock boy. I think I developed this from my parents and its makes perfect sense to me to do this and it drives me mad when I see carts with all the different stuff just thrown in.
Whew, glad I am not alone......

You race your car??
I pat my car on the dashboard too, especially when he makes it up our snowy driveway, or helps me swerve around a deer, etc. I also apologize to him---"Sorry, Harold!"--- when I screw up a shift, or drive over a curb, or something else incurably stupid that he doesn't deserve.

Did anybody else ever have to cut off a stubborn pedal crank in order to remove it?
catatonic
08-02-06, 07:18 AM
Yes I had a stubborn pedla, but did not cut it off. I used two pedal wrenches, removed the seatpost, got on top and slammed the hell out of my pedals to get them off.
The spindles on mine were rusting inside of the crankarms...that's what made it seize up so bad. I figure I was dropping well over 250lbs/ft of torque to get it off there.

Think about it for a minute, and it will make sense.
**HINT** In England, they probably say "caution, lorry makes wide LEFT turn".

I am wearing only a pair of swimming shorts. I had the day off, so my friends and I all went swimming at Island Lake state park. Its so hot out that I haven't put any other cloths since I went swimming.
Am I the only one when put on hold and hear "if you have a dial phone , please press 1" and wonders who actually still have rotary phones and what exactly would happend?
There was an old lady who lived around here that refused to give up her old rotary-dial phone (which she was still renting for the last 40 or so years). The phone company pleaded with her to relinquish it because they were trying to decomission their old crossbar switch. She stubbornly refused.

Yes, its true for ALL situation. A truck always takes wide turns, or more specifically two lanes. However, when making a left turn, EVERYBODY takes two lanes because you have to cross lanes. So its not "abnormal" for a left turn to take up two lanes (e.g. be "wide").
But a normal vehicle when making a RIGHT turn, only takes up one lane, thus only when a big truck is taking a RIGHT turn is it taking up more space than "normal" (normal for a regular sized car/truck that is).
