I Found this brouchere this weekend while cleaning out some files

It explains a lot of the Technology that went into the Technium Frame

I made it into a JPG after pdfing it.

It always cracks me up how their marketing first extolled the virtues of aluminum tubes bonded with steel lugs and then they later switched to using steel tubes with aluminum lugs. Seems like Raleigh was just trying to do things different for the sake of being different. Maybe it was all just a plot to encourage galvanic corrosion so that we would have to buy replacement bikes sooner.

Except for the bit about having an insulator between the two metals, yes.

I epoxy bond these things in a marine environment with little difficulty. I think the galvanic thing sounds overwrought.

Wouldn't the epoxy act as an insulator between the different types of metals?

Now on to the good question, can we make a CF frame by bonding?

I am modifying a lot on the bike and would love it if someone who had the original owner's manual or knew all the spec sizes for this bike to please post it!!!! For example, bottom bracket size, stem size, etc...

Zn containing 7000 series Al, and glass fiber, insulator, then the carbon fiber..
6000 series has no zinc by definition.

C & Zn are stacked to make a dry cell battery.
