I start school in the next few weeks and I need to bring stuff that would be well balanced and low-cal. Last school yr, I didn't bring my lunch once. always bought food, and that includes: hamburgers, fried chicken burgers, pizza:), mexican plate day, nachos or eggrolls, ect. No wonder I gained weight. Any ideas?

turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread
Cantaloupe, cauliflowe, brocolli, carrots, grapes, apples...in moderation. :)

My lunch is generally a turkey sandwich with a serving of cantaloupe. Then I have a banana and a serving of grapes later in the afternoon.

2 peeled boiled eggs, ezekiel sandwich, an apple, some celery, and some nuts
like almonds or walnuts. should fill you up. drink lots of water

Probably too simplistic as food varies greatly in density. Think steak versus salad. Two fists of salad isn't much, where two fists of steak is glutony.

Lean cuts on whole wheat bread, stay away from mayo, instead try different kinds of hummus. Or mash up some avacado and throw it on. That is basically what I have done for the past 3 years. Bring fresh fruit and plenty of water too.

Sandwiches are great. Bring whole fruit, 2-3. Bring your favorite energy bar.

Here's a vegetarian option:

Brownberry health-nut bread (or just some kind of hearty multi-grain nut bread) w/a small amount of nayonnaise (soy based mayo w/o eggs)
sliced cucumber & avocado
a few leaves of romaine/leaf lettuce
shaved carrots (once peeled, just use peeler to create shavings)

I occaisionally sprinkle this with garam masala

I like it better than a cheese sandwich (since I don't do meat) because its got lots of texture.\

I'd usually throw in fruit or some other vegetables. if you're lean and biking I'd say you'd have to add some more carbs or this might be too light.
